The role of our Client Managers is pivotal in delivering an exceptional client experience. They cultivate strong relationships with a diverse portfolio of inspiring small business clients, while proactively addressing their accounting needs. Our Client Managers wield a significant impact on the businesses they serve, offering both advisory and accountancy services with a keen attitude towards customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, send, and submit accounts & tax returns for clients, encompassing Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited Companies.
- Demonstrate effective communication with clients via phone, email, social media, and in-person interactions, including diligent record chasing.
- Skillfully onboard new clients and seamlessly integrate them into your portfolio, involving bookkeeping, compliance, and relevant processes to be smoothly transferred to the relevant department.
- Provide expert assessment and advice to clients on their tax position, while optimizing tax efficiency.
- Complete, review, and meticulously prepare bookkeeping, VAT returns, and CIS.
- Maintain a well-organized system of electronic filing of books and records, both internally and for client administration.
- Serve as a proficient liaison between clients and HM Revenue & Customs to diligently handle and resolve queries.
- Actively participate in various activities aimed at supporting the smooth functioning of the office environment.
- Proactively manage and enhance your professional development and learning, including adherence to any relevant CPD requirements dictated by your professional body.
- Ensure accuracy and up-to-date HMRC/Companies House statutory information.
- Actively attend networking events, when required, to represent our firm.
- Prepare and skillfully execute year-end client meetings.
- Engage in internal and external training initiatives, such as client bookkeeping training, in line with our company values.
- Conduct client fee reviews to ensure equitable and satisfactory arrangements.
General Duties:
- Diligently participate in training and development activities, as deemed necessary for the role, in agreement with the line manager.
- Willingly undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by line managers, ensuring compliance with all employee policies and procedures.
Person Specification:
Relevant Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced accountancy practice, managing a diverse caseload of clients, with the support of membership to a professional body.
- Proven ability to competently prepare accounts & tax returns for clients, covering Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited Companies.
- Familiarity and proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Quickbooks, DEXT, and Free Agent (highly desirable, though not essential).
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of Tax regulations.

- Demonstrated effective time management, excelling in working to tight deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

– Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
– Conduct financial forecasting and budgeting activities
– Monitor and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
– Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
– Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and other financial records
– Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and collections
– Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and support auditors during the annual audit process
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and support for decision-making processes
– Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls
– Stay updated on industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA certification preferred)
– Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role
– Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
– Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero and Sage
– Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
– Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
– Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
– Experience in private equity or investment management is a plus
– Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial forecasting techniques
