Job Title: Management Accountant

Location: Renfrewshire

Salary: £30,000-£40,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Management Accountant to join our client’s team in Renfrewshire. This position offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work with a dynamic organisation that values professionalism and expertise.

We are open to considering candidates who are fully qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE).

Key Responsibilities:
General accounting: Preparation of Monthly management accounts, responsible for maintaining general ledger

Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, and monitor performance against these financial plans.

Variance Analysis: Analyse financial data to identify variances from budgeted or forecasted figures and provide insights to management.

Cost Control: Monitor and control costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support cost reduction initiatives.

Month-end and Year-end Close: Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.

Tax Compliance: Assist in tax compliance activities, including VAT returns and liaising with tax authorities.

Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement process improvements in financial reporting and analysis.

Audit Support: Assist in the preparation for external audits and provide necessary documentation and support during audit engagements.

Ad-hoc Reporting: Generate ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by senior management.

Qualifications:
Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) OR Part-qualified Accountant OR Qualified by Experience (QBE)

Requirements

Proven experience in management accounting, financial analysis, and reporting.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Previous experience in a similar role is essential
