Full job description

The Project Manager at CIAD, will be responsible for overseeing and executing the CIAD Biennial Dress Conference which is planned for the end of May 2024, as well as help with the development and implementation of our new courses. You will work closely with the Director, educators, research assistant, social media coordinator and other stakeholders to ensure the successful planning, execution, and evaluation of our projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for African and African diasporic fashion, a strong project management background, and exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning: Collaborate with the Director and other team members to plan and organise the third Biennial Dress Conference and define project objectives, scope, and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets. Work closely with the research assistant and director to plan the execution of our courses.

Project Execution: Lead project teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to project goals and quality standards.

Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including curators, designers, artists, donors, and community partners. Foster positive relationships and facilitate collaboration.

Resource Management: Manage project resources, including human resources, finances, and materials. Allocate resources efficiently and track expenses.

Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address issues that may impact project success.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes. Ensure records are accurate and accessible.

Evaluation: Collaborate with the Director and CIAD team to assess project outcomes and impact. Use feedback to improve future projects and initiatives.

Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenses. Provide regular financial reports to the Director and ensure compliance with funding requirements.

Event Coordination: Assist in organizing conference and educational programs. Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and promotional activities as needed.

Community Engagement: Work with the CIAD team to engage with local and global communities. Foster a sense of inclusivity and diversity in all CIAD initiatives.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months
Part-time hours: 14 per week

Salary: £21.42 per hour
