Role Overview
This role is responsible for the Treasury Front Office function, comprising of all Front Office dealing activity of the Group Treasury department which includes external and internal treasury transactions, management of all currency positions within policy parameters and managing the cash liquidity position for the Group.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work together with colleagues in other finance disciplines, both at Head Office and at the subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the daily trading activity of the Group:
o Review of cash balances and future positions for liquidity planning, including use of the Group’s uncommitted and committed facilities.
o Establishing the required foreign exchange trading activity to manage positions within the Group policy parameters and the agreed strategy of the Group.
- Working with the operating companies to ensure foreign exchange risk is correctly identified and mitigating actions taken, including management of the monthly foreign exchange netting process.
- Managing the Group’s obligations regarding its external committed funding sources and facilities.
- Overseeing Trade Finance across the Group including monitoring utilisation and adequacy of Group Trade Finance Credit lines and implementing necessary adjustments as required.
- Regular interaction with key transactional banking relationships including a regular review of transactional activity and performance.
- Periodic reporting of all positions, policy adherence at Group and subsidiary level and bank performance in accordance with the Group’s Finance timetables.
- Input into the period-end (including corporate half-year and year-end) reporting and assisting the Auditors.
- Continuous improvement of Treasury processes and procedures to ensure that they are lean, standardised, automated and relevant.
- Working with the rest of the Treasury team to deliver ad-hoc projects, requests and analysis as required.
Critical Competencies for Success
- Qualified Accountant, ideally with either a relevant graduate degree or with sufficient relevant experience.
- Associate Member Corporate Treasurer (AMCT) qualified or working towards the qualification (or desire to do so) considered a plus.
- Strong technical skills and experience of large, listed groups advantageous.
- Excellent Excel skills and with the ability to understand the Group’s Treasury Management system and processes quickly.
- An inquisitive and positive ‘can do/will do’ attitude that thrives on personal responsibility and accountability.
- Ability to work at pace in a methodical, analytical manner whilst maintaining full control over all aspects of the role.
