Full job description

Assistant Accountant

Duties:

To ensure that all outstanding items are chased by telephone / email / letter and monthly statements are sent out to all relevant customers.

To deal with any Sales ledger queries raised by customers relating to their accounts.

To ensure all payments received and refunds are posted daily.

To perform agreed credit checks on prospective and existing customers in relation to their trade account and to inform customers when trade accounts have been agreed or denied.

To liaise with debt collecting agency where a customer’s account has been passed for collection.

To ensure that any correcting journals required are made in a timely manner to ensure Sales ledger is accurate and up to date.

Process service invoices in conjunction with field engineers.

Reconcile Credit card sales.

To ensure that all Sales ledger filing is up to date.

Unblock sales orders

To deal with any Purchase ledger queries as they arise such as payment queries and statement reconciliations.

Administer stock adjustments

Process manual journals

Process incoming invoices from suppliers sending them for authorisation

Proposing weekly payment run

Administer Fuel Cards

Administer Expenses including credit cards

Premier Inn Account administration and assist with group travel booking

To achieve individual, team and Company Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

To ensure cover for other team members (busy periods, holidays etc.).

To perform any other reasonable duties as requested by the Financial Controller.

Qualifications:

Preferable part qualified AAT level 3 – or qualified by experience

Credit Control experience.

Computer literacy (Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook experience, MS Navision desirable.)

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Effective communication skills. (Written and telephone manner)

Excellent relationship building skills (Internal and External)

Job Type: Temporary contract
Contract length: 12 months

Salary: £24,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
