Reporting directly into the Finance Director, the Educate Management Accountant is responsible for but not limited to:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts- Meet with management to discuss the monthly management accounts to ensure that they are accurate, and the financial position is understood. Agree actions as required with management to address issues identified during the review process (e.g. recovery of debtors, under/over accruals, overhead reductions required etc)
  • Preparing and filing quarterly VAT returns– Prepare and file the quarterly VAT returns for each company by the end of the month prior to the relevant date that payment is required.
  • Assisting with budgets and reforecasting- Updating budget/reforecast template input files with year to date actuals and prior year actuals and current year budgets.
  • Supporting finance colleagues and wider group.

  • Ensure that workflows are easily identifiable so that in your absence other members of staff are able to continue the work without hindrance.

  • Strongly numerate, detail focused and able to keep highly organised, accurate records.

  • Offer assistance to colleagues with their workloads as necessary and provide cover for absent colleagues.

Required Experience and qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA,ACA or equivalent)
  • Competent using Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Experience of using Sage 200, desirable but not essential
  • Part qualified candidates will be considered

Please note this role requires a hybrid approach of 1-2 days per week in our office in Attleborough/Shropham Norfolk UK. Please consider this when looking at commuting distances.
