Accountant – Leeds – Construction

Main Purpose of Job:
You will be the main support for the Business Unit Accountant for our business. Assist in providing detailed financial reports

to ensure we manage our contractual obligations, manage our risk, aid planning/decision making and that projects are

forecasted and reported accurately. …

You will also provide financial information for our pre-construction/ operations/ commercial teams.

You will have an important role in ensuing our suppliers are paid in accordance with their contracts to maintain good supplier relationships.

Key Tasks: Not limited to

• Preparation of Monthly P&L/Balance sheet
• Cash flow Forecasting
• Reconciling Ledgers
• Prepayments/Accruals
• Creating Sales Invoices
• Bank Reconciliation
• Maintain Asset Ledger
• Preparing and analysing departmental and project Cost Reports
• Process sub-contractor Invoices
• Process Month End Journals
• Administer Plant Hire Desk System
• Assist in preparation of Month End Forecasts & Budgets
• Assist in meeting our environmental targets of CO2 emission reduction.
• Assist in developing our accounts processes and reports to drive continuous improvement.

Knowledge and Experience Required:
Our candidates should have either a degree in accounting or another relevant qualification, and are studying towards gaining

a professional accountancy qualification, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a busy accounts department.

Previous experience as an Accountant in Construction environment would be an advantage.

You should have a good Commercial awareness, and strong IT skills including Accounts Systems and spreadsheets

You will need to be a great communicator and team player, with a positive attitude and problem-solving approach.
