Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £33,820 – £34,723

The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.

Here at 23 Hart Street we provide over night short breaks for children, aged 8 – 18 with a learning disability. We provide the opportunity to development and learn in an enviroment that has its emphasis on fun.

We are a specially built home, enabling us to create the perfect enviroment to entertain, interact with, and provide for all of our young peoples individual needs. We also love to be part of the community and reguarly take trips out.

About the Role

As an Assistant Manager you will be responsible for supporting the Registered Manager,to ensure that the home and the service it provides is of a high standard . Complying with all the legal, statutory requirements and adhering to policy and procedures. Ensuring in conjunction with the Registered Manager the home provides the young people opportunity to have their voice heard in all asspects of the home relevant to themselves. To support the manager to develop training and to ensure that the staff team are suported in their roles to assess and develop the care plans.To manage the home in the managers absence. To be able to communcate and intract at a variety of levels, Including atttending and chairing various meetings.You will be expected to carry out audit activities, including administrative, report writing and developing systems, rota’s and bookings. You will be expected to liase with colleagues from varying agencies. The role of Assistant Manger involves the supervision of staff on a regular bassis, and supporting them through training and all their developmental requirements

You will need to be able to work alone, and as a member of a team, and undertake on-call as part of a rota system.

Key Requirements

We are looking for a person that can display a patient and resilient attitude, exceptional communication skills and who will work with compassion, positivity and bring some fun into this role. A person that can be supportive, creative and when needed make decisions (sometimes tough decisions).

Ideally you will already have a Level 5 Diploma in Childcare and young people, (or enrolment to complete the qualification within two years appointment).

Social work or relevant qualification for children and young people.

Knowledge of the varying legislative and regulative requirements that govern the home.

A knowledge of children with a learning disability, including Attachment, Autism, ADHD, and similar condition effecting behaviour.
