Management Accountant

Location: Durham

Salary: up to £45K

Permanent Staff Position

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join an established manufacturing business on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial forecasts, performing departmental audits, analysing the Company’s financial performance, and providing key insights to aid in managerial decision-making within the business.

THE JOB:

· Preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts

· Conduct analysis of financial data to provide insights on cost reduction, profitability, and performance trends.

· Analyse product costs, manufacturing expenses and overheads to identify areas of improvement, cost-saving opportunities, and pricing strategies.

· Prepare financial reports, and presentations for management.

· Monitor and analyse actual financial results against budgeted figures, investigating and explaining any significant deviations and recommending corrective actions if necessary.

· Collaborate with management teams to develop financial plans, strategies, and long-term business projections, considering factors such as market trends, industry benchmarks, and company objectives.

· Conduct profitability analysis of products, services, and business segments to identify areas of growth, margin improvement, and resource optimization.

· Use financial systems, software, and tools to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

What you will bring to the team:

· A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline

· ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualification

· Proven experience as a Management Accountant ideally within a manufacturing business

· Strong financial analysis and reporting skills

· Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and cost accounting methodologies

· Proficiency in financial management software, advanced Excel, and other relevant tools
