Full job description

Our client based in Wrexham is currently looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their team on a permanent basis.

Key Duties:

  • Liaising with internal management regarding invoice and credit note queries and ensuring accurate resolution of any problems
  • Support the Accountant and FC on annual budget preparation and statutory audit, including dealing with queries/preparing reports;
  • Supporting the Accountant in monitoring site costs through KPIs including labour vs budget and investigating reasons for variances;
  • Support management in a variety of information requirements including producing monthly standard reports;
  • Clocking system management and collation of payroll information from system;
  • Manage and audit the transfer of accurate payroll information to the payroll provider on a timely basis;
  • Ensure that pension, life cover and other employee benefits are accurately administered;
  • To respond professionally (verbal and written) and in a timely manner to staff queries relating to payroll;
  • Management and submission of applicable HMRC and other statutory returns;
  • Processing of payroll journals onto the accounting system on a monthly basis;

What we are looking for in the successful candidate:

  • Experience in an Accounts Assistant role OR studying towards accounting qualification
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
  • Bookkeeping and payroll experience
  • Sage experience, preferably SAGE 200.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Good Excel Knowledge
  • Good IT Skills

What our client can offer in return:

  • Salary of £30,000 per annum
  • Working hours Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm – Friday 8am to 2pm
