An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Payroll Manager based in Newington Barrow Way, London with a leading Housing Association.

Salary: £60,105 – £63,393 per annum

As the Council’s Payroll Manager, you will play a vital role in enabling this, ensuring equality is at the centre of all that we do in our communities and our workplace. We are a friendly and ambitious team with clear direction and a passion for excellent customer service, enabled by technology.

Your responsibilities will include:
You will lead our payroll service and be responsible for the integrity of our payroll processes, providing strategic and operational direction and leadership.

You will lead on the payroll digital improvements as part of our ambitious HR IT Programme

You will act as at the council’s expert, liaising with HM Revenue and Customs, ensuring that the payroll function meets statutory and contractual requirements.

You will work in collaboration with colleagues and partners to ensure a customer focused service to schools driving service improvements in line with the annual service plan.

Requirements

Holds a relevant payroll professional qualification and/or relevant equivalent experience.

Substantial payroll management experience in a complex cultural and systems environment

A detailed knowledge and understanding of PAYE Tax, National Insurance and Pension regulations in relation to payroll administration to ensure that the system meets these requirements.

An understanding of pay and conditions of service for local government staff including teachers and Soulbury graded staff.
