Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a small, yet fast-growing FMCG manufacturer and wholesaler based in Woodbridge, Suffolk in the recruitment of a Senior Finance Manager.
2023 has seen this organisation significantly expand its customer base and manufacturing capabilities. Further growth expected over the coming years has created the need for this new role. You will be hands-on to ensure that the finance function plays a leading role in a number of important areas including improving profitability reporting and process efficiencies, while ensuring adherence to financial timetables and internal controls.

Responsibilities
– Reporting to and supporting the Head of Finance in financial matters and the Head of Operations for site and manufacturing activities.
– Ensure suitable internal controls exist across the business.
– Provision of timely, accurate and reliable reporting and internal controls.
– Monthly management accounts including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
– Overseeing the integrity and accuracy of the manufacturing and stock management system.
– Development of data integration between finance and stock.
– Stock control, analysis, and processing of stocktake gains or losses.
– Development of cost analysis and reporting on product profitability.
– Weekly / monthly analysis of manufacturing (identifying changes in raw materials, labour, and production overheads) and distribution costs by product and customer.
– Weekly flash sales reports – analysing income by customer, value and product sold against targets.
– Assist the Head of Operations in driving cost reductions and manufacturing efficiencies, identification of wastage / causes.
– Tracking wastage and undelivered orders; assistance in efforts to minimise this cost.
– Reporting updates to budget holders.
– Prepare annual budgets and produce quarterly reforecasts.
– Recruitment and management of the accounting team.
– Return of purchase and sales ledgers, VAT and control of the company’s bank accounts from current outsourced provider.
– Control of bank accounts using an online link to NatWest.
– Creation and input of journals for depreciation, accruals, and prepayments.
– Monthly sales and balance Sheet control account reconciliations.
– Seek out process efficiencies and more effective ways of working.
– Generation of statutory accounts and leading on external audits.
Person specification:
– Fully or Part Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW or Qualified by Experience.
– Significant hands-on experience of managing internal controls and the generation of monthly management accounts.
– Background in finance within a manufacturing environment will be very advantageous.
– Potential to develop into Senior Leadership roles as the company expands.
– Proficient in Excel including pivot tables, lookup and SUMIF calculations.
– Self-motivated to work independently and as part of a small team.

Remuneration
Salary: £c50-60,000 pa
Hours: 37.5-hour week. 9.00am to 5.00pm with half an hour lunch (flexible options)
Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays, with part used during Christmas/New Year
Pension: Auto enrolment with contributions in line with government guidelines
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
