About Our Client

Job Description

Working with the Finance Director and COO in preparing, designing and improving the Forecast/Budgets for the Group

Preparing the internal and external financial, management and regulatory reports for the Group, including:

Monthly management accounts, including commentary, analysis and comparison with Budgets/forecasts

Producing and managing the submission of monthly/quarterly/annual regulatory returns to the FCA. This includes monitoring to ensure no regulatory or capital requirement thresholds are breached

Annual production of the ICARA, including calculating the risks the group is exposed to and working closely with the Compliance Officer

Other ad-hoc reporting

Maintaining strong balance sheet control through monthly reconciliation of the entire balance sheet

Managing the external audit process and preparing the statutory financial statements

Production of corporate tax calculations and completion of all tax related reporting, including co-ordination with tax compliance providers

Preparation of UK VAT returns

The Successful Applicant

Degree qualified

Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) or equivalent

Ideally Big 4 audit experience, with FCA regulated financial services / asset management clients

Strong quantitative/numerical and analytical skills.

Sound verbal and written communication skills

Proven project and time management skills

Proactive continuous improvement approach to current financial processes and propose/devise improvements that take into account broader business/group issues and restraints.

Demonstrable ability to think logically and laterally to provide solutions to complex problems/issues

Knowledge and ability to research UK prudential requirements in relation to investment firms (BIPRU, AIFMD, and MiFID)

Knowledge of and ability to research as required UKGAAP/USGAAP/IFRS requirements as well as regulatory and taxation requirements

Sage 200 or relevant system experience/knowledge advantageous

Shows initiative and gains satisfaction from developing reports, procedures and controls to drive business performance
