Full job description

Immediate start 6 month FTC – Reporting to Group Financial Controller, this role is responsible for accounting entries and computations of the France group P&L, completing month end processes, and reporting for our France division Operations. This role holds responsibility of France accounts receivable and payable functions, including payment runs, and has one direct report line.

Based in Bedford, you will have Business Partnering responsibility with the France Operations Director and manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Ø Completion of the month end and the timely and accurate production of Management Accounts including analysis on the performance variances to Budget, latest Forecast and Prior year

Ø Consolidating French entities monthly results into group and calculating consolidation adjustments, including Inter-company accounting

Ø Balance Sheet Reconciliations completed with the relevant supporting paperwork and commentary

Ø Managing French expense claim forms and identifying process improvements.

Ø Ensuring the French till/cash reconciliation are completed accurately and improving on the current process.

Ø Completing cashflows analysis and forecasts, and working closely, but remotely with the finance manager in France on P&L.

Ø Assisting the finance manager in France with the budget, forecast and strategic planning process.

Ø Responsible for overseeing the billing and payment processes across France entities

Ø Liaising with French external accountants for the completion of the various tax reporting.

Ø Ensuring the French annual audit process is planned and carried out effectively.

Ø Continuous review and monitoring of the incumbent processes within divisions. Assess existing reporting processes, propose improvements for streamlining and efficiencies point of view

Ø Works cross functionally across Finance and Operations to reduce duplication and improve efficiency in our reports and processes

Ø Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, in the conduct of investigations for ad-hoc analysis

Skills Required:
Ø Formal financial qualification (ACCA or ACA ideally)

Ø Educated to a degree level (preferably)

Ø Advance Microsoft Package Skills and Understanding – especially Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint

Ø Has the experience and confidence to critically appraise information and ask challenging questions.

Ø Previous experience with French GAAP would be advantageous.

Ø Previous experience with a retail / hospitality business would be highly desirable.

Ø French language skills are an advantage although not essential.

Ø Has strong experience of the month end process and good knowledge of the technical and regulatory requirements of accounts preparation and experience of consolidations.

Ø Strong attention to detail and great excel skills.
