What does a great Finance manager do?
You will come on board at a truly exciting time as we embark upon the next phase of our finance transformation program. You will take the lead in the transition of accounting and compliance activity from APAC into the UK as part of the ongoing development of a UK-based accounting Center of Excellence, leading a new team of three reports, with accountability for all aspects of accounting and compliance for the legal entities within the APAC region.
This role will report into Travelport’s controllership function, and the new team will sit alongside existing European and US accounting teams at Travelport’s global head office in the UK.
Responsibilities include:
Successful transition of accounting and compliance activities into a new UK-based team from the existing team in APAC
Lead, develop and motivate a team of 3 senior accountants who will be responsible for accounting and compliance activities across 10 legal entities, as well as managing the activities of a business process outsourcer who provides accounting support and relationships with country-specific outsourcers in China and Taiwan
Responsible for the accurate and on time filing of applicable regulatory or mandatory financial, survey and statistical returns, including direct and indirect tax returns.
Support operational finance activities within APAC region (such as banking and accounts payable)
Who we are looking for in this role:
Qualified accountant, with at least 5 years of relevant financial and management experience
Knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin) and Traditional Chinese characters desirable
Experience of process improvement in multinational organizations and the ability to drive simple solutions to complex problems.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to define issues, identify options and recommend solutions.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple departments.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and experience in ERP systems is essential, whilst specific experience in Oracle is an advantage.
