Job Description

Our client, a market leader in its field, with a fantastic reputation for quality service delivery and customer retention, is looking to hire a credible and proactive Financial Accountant. Previous incumbents of this role have gone on to secure FP&A positions in the wider finance team, so this would be excellent springboard for someone with an Accounting background, looking to follow a similar path.

Main duties include:

• Preparing monthly financial accounts and related overheads
• Identifying journal adjustments and recommend correct accounting treatment for unusual transactions
• Regularly reviewing and analysing revenue related budget and forecast variances
• Preparing monthly cost reallocation modules
• Reviewing accruals and site level P&Ls
• Supporting the year end audit procedure
• Completion and/or review of cost and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting and contribute to cost control and cost monitoring
• Calculating variance analysis – to include root cause analysis and countermeasures to anomalous entries in the accounts
• Bank account reconciliation and assisting with ad-hoc duties to support wider finance department.

Key skills & Experience required:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong foundation in accounting and a keen interest in wider business drivers
• Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
• Positive attitude and keen to roll up sleeves and add to the team dynamic
• Intermediate Excel
