Deputy Financial Controller at Vital People

We are delighted to be working alongside this exciting and expanding industry leader situated in Ellesmere Port. They are looking for a Deputy Financial Controller to be part of a dynamic finance team, and work alongside the Financial Controllers across all areas of the business.

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 9:00 – 5:30

Salary: £55,000 – £57,000, plus bonus and benefits which include a company pension scheme, hybrid working, enhanced annual leave, an onsite gym and free parking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Financial Controllers in the management of the finance department
• Standing in for any of the Financial Controllers as and when required
• Assisting in reviewing monthly financial reports
• Supporting the Financial Controllers with compliance to statutory law, finance and tax regulations
• Solving technical accounting issues
• Auditing the efficiency of business processes and assisting with improving the efficiencies, as well as looking to reduce the costings across the business
• Assist in the deliverance of key projects within the finance department. For example, transitioning from SAGE 200 to SAGE X3

Requirements:

• A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA etc)
• Experience of computerised accounting software and an ability for system improvements and developments
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Ability to think objectively
• Motivated to develop knowledge and skills and improve processes
• Excellent communication skills, and capable of updating and directing all levels of staff, both internal and external to the department
• Driven to meet personal and departmental deadlines
