The teams across Finance Service Delivery process a range of financial transactions and ensure procedures and processes are followed to deliver a high-quality service to our clients.
The General Ledger team deal with account reconciliation and reporting for a variety of areas including Cash and Bank, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, GRNI, Intercompany/Counterparty and Whole of Government Accounts.
Responsibilities will include the following:
Producing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for our larger clients, presenting and analysing data using complex formulas and macros to provide a comprehensive set of accounts.
Providing guidance on complex queries to Finance Analysts or less experienced members of the team.
Creating ad hoc adjusting journals as required to make any necessary corrections and provide advice to clients on preparation of journals.
Carrying out Counterparty coding and produce Whole of Government Accounts
Ensuring that all reconciling items are identified, documented and cleared within SLA by proactively working with clients and relevant internal departments.
To do this role well you will need:
Educated to GCSE level, including Mathematics and English, or proven ability to work at this level
Advanced Excel knowledge including working with complex formulas and macros.
Good organisational skills: ability to multitask, prioritise and work to strict and tight deadlines.
Effective at problem solving and dealing with complex queries.
Experience of double entry accounting and account reconciliation.
Ability to face challenges proactively and be comfortable and confident dealing with a diverse range of customers at all levels.
Ability to explain complex accounting issues to non-finance stakeholders.
Ability to take responsibility, guide less experienced members of the team and make independent decisions within limits of role.
In return for your skills and experience, we can offer you flexible and remote working options for a 37hr week (full time) with start and finish times between 8am – 6pm, or part time hours to suit. Our team usually work from home and come into the office once or twice a week, but we are flexible on this too. If it helps, there is even flexibility on which office you base yourself from – Swindon, Newport, or Billingham.
