Full job description

Job Title: ASD Teaching Assistant

Location: Redbridge

Payscale: £85-95 per day

Hours: 8:30-3:30

Contract: Long term to Permanent | ASAP Start

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with autism in their educational journey, working alongside our experienced educators to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with autism in both classroom and specialized settings.

Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans.

Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a personalized and inclusive learning environment.

Foster a safe, supportive, and structured classroom atmosphere that promotes students’ social and emotional development.

Utilize effective communication strategies to facilitate student engagement and understanding.

Monitor and record student progress and behavior, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents/guardians as needed.

Assist with classroom preparations, materials, and resources for lessons and activities.

Qualifications:
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or a degree in education or a related field is preferred.

Prior experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders is highly desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom setting.

Knowledge of evidence-based strategies and interventions for individuals with autism is a plus.
