Kitchen Assistant (Maternity Cover – Alternate Weekends)

We have an exciting role for someone who is looking to work with a dynamic and supportive team to serve our older residents. You will assist the chef by preparing a range of tasty food and setting up/clearing away dishes during meal times.

Finborough Court is a modern and spacious home in the quiet, rural village of Great Finborough. Our staff provide residential care, dementia care and respite care for 32 residents. Read more about our stunning home here.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of nutritionally balanced and attractive meals with due regard to resident preferences and special dietary needs.

Observe food hygiene regulations.

Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment; tidy communal areas, wash, dry and store all crockery, cutlery and utensils.

Maintain the kitchen, catering equipment and food storage rooms in a high state of cleanliness and tidiness.

Maintain all records and control stock rotation when on duty.

Work as part of a team and be willing to take on any task, within your capabilities, to provide an excellent service to our residents.

Attend meetings and training activities as required.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you are required to perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.

About you:
You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have an empathy with them;

You must enjoy cooking and be able to cook and prepare food to a good standard; and

You should have a basic food hygiene certificate and a food-related qualification (this would be an advantage but is not essential).

You need to be able to work as part of a team in order to provide an excellent service to our residents; and

You need to be a well-organised, practical and adaptable person.

Hours:
Part time temporary contract available until March 2024, working shifts 7am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday on alternate weekends.

Weekend hourly rate PS11.08 (PS10.96 Mon – Fri)

Other shifts may be available on a Bank basis. Please get in touch to discuss.
