Kitchen Assistant at Willow Tree Nursery

Willow Tree Nursery is currently recruiting for a Nursery kitchen assistant, on a full time basis – 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Our opening times are 8-6 and the shift for the assistant would be 9-6 Monday to Thursday and 8-5 on Friday. The role is predominately washing duties in the kitchen.

Supporting Nursery cook in day to day role, and stepping up in absence of cook.
Some experience with cooking is desirable. The nursery caters for 79 children and must be able to support dietary requirements and allergies and ensure these are adhered to.
Food Hygiene certificate essential (training can be provided for this)

Responsibilities

• Maintaining high hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment following Food Standard Agency/ Environmental Health guidelines.
• Maintaining necessary kitchen records and ensuring procedures are carried out.
• Ensure kitchen is kept clean and tidy
• Ensure that all foods are ready to the routine of the nursery
• To engage in cooking activities with the children and staff.
• This position is subject to an enhanced DBS certificate and two satisfactory employment references. All staff must enrol to the update service.
• Successful candidate will be required to undertake online safeguarding training, which is refreshed yearly.
