We’re seeking a qualified financial accountant to join our 20-strong Financial Accounts team. Within this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for delivery of all statutory and regulatory financial reporting at Group level.
This role represents a great opportunity to make a real impact delivering high quality and effective financial reporting for our senior management team and Boards.
What you’ll be doing:
Delivery of all statutory and regulatory financial reporting at Group level, in controlled fashion and in compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and guidance.
Statutory Reporting, including:
Lead accountant of financial results; Group (Interim and Annual) and SJPUK (Annual).
Stock Exchange reporting for Half Year and Full Year.
Regular reporting in support of Statutory and Regulatory reporting:
Oversight for monthly Group Consolidation
Overseeing SJPUK financial controls
Responsible for preparation/review of papers for Group and SJPUK Audit Committees
Ensuring consistency between Insurance companies for statutory and regulatory financial reporting
You’ll work through key, pressurised reporting cycles. Working closely with others: our auditors PwC, colleagues across the wider Finance team (Actuarial, Tax, Management Accounts, Treasury) and wider business teams.
Who we’re looking for:
You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA or other relevant qualification) with relevant group reporting experience.
Extensive knowledge and experience of corporate reporting processes and practices, both internal and external.
Strong and broad industry knowledge (regulators, competitors and consultants).
Good knowledge of auditor processes and practices.
Ability to analyse and understand emerging issues and their impact on the Group reporting.
Awareness of Regulatory Reporting (Solvency II) an advantage.
