Finance Business Partner – Commercial

Finance Business Partner – Headcount Stock Control

As a member of the Homebase Finance team, you will be accountable for driving channel profitability and operational excellence through the planning, analysis and reporting of Homebase performance. As well as, the dentification of opportunities and mobilising of teams ensuring delivery.

Location: Milton Keynes/Hybrid – 2 days office based, 3 days from home per week*.

  • This may be more regularly during some of our busier, peak periods (up to 4 days per week on occasion) but you can expect to work from the office 1 to 2 days per week regularly.

What will you be doing?

(Including but not limited to)

To provide high quality insight across all customer, channel and product areas, driving the commercial strategy to achieve sales growth and margin targets

Evaluating results to ensure there is clear understanding of business performance, identifying and implementing improvements to enable delivery of the commercial targets

Produce modelling and analysis around promotional activities to provide guidance and challenge to enable decision making to support the increased profitability across Homebase channels

Ensure a robust and deliverable end to end budget and forecast is in place reflecting expected sales, margin and stock plans by monitoring and challenging the forecast as well as investigating variances to the plan through to conclusion

Drive simplification of process and the continuous improvement agenda, maintain adequate controls and identify opportunities to drive the overall profitability of Homebase

What you need to be successful:
A fully qualified accountant with FMCG / Home Delivery/ Multi-Channel Retail experience

Strong Commercial/Operational finance and analysis background

Understanding of end-to-end retail supply chain and product margin

A strong communicator who is comfortable challenging the status quo at all levels
