Job Description

We require a highly motivated and dedicated finance professional to be a key member of the Speke Operations Finance Team during an exciting period of growth for the Flumist/Fluenz brand. You will be responsible for ensuring timing completion of the annual Statutory Audit for Medimmune UK Limited, ensuring ongoing compliance with FCF Controls and partnering across multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive business performance and insights.

Your new role and responsibilities!

Controls and Compliance

Lead input for the annual statutory audit and work directly with auditors through the audit process

Prepare statutory legal entity accounts and drive accuracy in the numbers down to statutory materiality

Educate site and drive maintenance & adherence to the Financial Controls and Compliance Framework

Educate site and drive adherence to the global financial policies, in areas such as Capital, Inventory, cost management, invoicing, reporting

Drive for Right First Time financial transactions across the site

Business Performance:
Partner with the Global Finance Services and the site teams through the month end close and forecasting cycles to ensure all understanding of the numbers and issue resolution

Partner with site teams to continuously improve business processes to manage financials at all levels

Deliver monthly finance reporting by site function

Develop and maximize collaboration between site and Global Financial Services teams to achieve our operational objectives

Proactively provide insightful financial information to all site functions to support better decision making

Continuous Improvement & Coaching:
Work closely with the Site Finance Lead to support the finance functions deliverables

Proactively drive change within the scope of work without a high level of supervision

Develop and implement ways of working to make the function more efficient and effective

Enhance Site financial and business acumen

Flag financial issues without being prompted and understand what the solution is

Exercise judgment and decisiveness when appropriate

Create the environment with continuous coaching to drive employees at all levels to make financially sound decisions.

Provide ad-hoc financial analysis or support to departments as appropriate.

Represent the finance function in inter-departmental problem solving, teamwork and improvement initiatives as needed.

Measures

Delivery of the operating unit and functional scorecard

Delivery of the operating unit’s performance and planning submissions and reporting requirements; particularly FCF bi-annual controls reporting and annual Statutory Audit.

Feedback from finance networks and business customers

Timely, accurate and insightful performance reporting

Conformance with key process deliverables and timelines

Requirements / Qualifications:
Qualified finance professional (or equivalent) with technical accounting experience

Experience of preparing statutory accounts and involvement in statutory audits or strong desire to build that experience

Building robust multicultural relationships

Strong communication and presentation skills, including oral & written

Excellent Interpersonal skills & team player

Experience of using financial systems to support business decision making (budgeting, forecasting & modelling); Particularly SAP

Curious, proactive & solution focussed
