About the role

Are you able to take the lead and manage financial accounting and transactional finance teams? Do you have the knowledge and experience to manage statutory finance functions? Do you have excellent attention to detail, ability to manage many projects at once and experience of managing large finance teams?

We are looking for our Financial Controller to contribute towards our growth aspirations by ensuring that statutory financial accounting is complete and effective, our rents and service charges are set accurately, systems are effective in the collection of income and our suppliers are paid on time.

In this role you will you ensure that the day-to-day financial activities of the association are effectively and legally carried out. The role needs someone with strong technical and regulatory knowledge and skills, and the drive and energy to take us where we want to be, whilst ensuring we remain fully compliant.

Your work will affect many lives – PCH is Plymouth’s largest social housing landlord with over 16,000 residential and commercial properties, over 650 members of staff and around 35,000 people living in our homes in the city and beyond.

To be considered for this crucial role, you will need to demonstrate significant experience of leading finance teams in a regulated organisation, ideally in housing. Your experience and skills are really important, but as important are your values – who you are and how you treat others matters to us. We want to know if you are a financial leader with a passion to do some good.

Our ideal candidate for this role is someone who:
Has experience of providing financial advice to Senior Management

Has knowledge of financial reporting requirements and experience of preparing or auditing group statutory financial statements

Can demonstrate a track record of strategic planning and delivery of high quality value for money and customer focused services

Is a CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant or equivalent
